A Complete Moisture Sensing and Control System

Measure Soil Moisture - in percent (%)
from the surface down to any root depth, over any size area,

big or small.

Soil moisture  is 72% at a depth of 12 inches.  The black rings show through the Access tube indicating the depth of the moisture probe in the root system. It's that easy!

"...I used a neutron probe in my irrigation scheduling business for 25 years. Two years ago I gave the AquaPro system a try. I found the AquaPro to be better in every way.  My only regret is not getting the AquaPro sooner..."     (Paul Young, Young's Ag service, California)

FREE SOFTWARE

We supply you with free software to log your soil moisture readings on your computer and display them in a graph style of your choice. (Microsoft Excel required)

AquaPro Soil Moisture Sensors

A fast and easy way to take soil moisture measurements in percent  soil moisture, using only one moisture sensor for multiple moisture readings over the entire root zone, in any size area.  Here is how you do it:

  • Insert a number of AquaPro's special PolyPro Access Tubes, 1 meter or 2 meters long in the soil where you want to measure soil moisture.  The tubes are left in the ground.
  • Lower the AP Moisture Probe  down the tube.  It reads soil moisture through the tube via low frequency radio waves.
  • The AP Moisture Probe  will provide an accurate moisture profile, shown digitally in percent soil moisture, (100% is saturated and 0% is dry) over the entire root zone.
  • Soil moisture levels can be seen on our hand held digital meter or use our data logging system to automatically save and download data to your PC.
  • It is quick, (it takes a soil moisture reading in 2 seconds) it saves water, time, money, fertilizer and  much labor.
  • 30 day full money back guarantee, one year fix or replace warranty.
  • It is portable!  Start saving water today.
  • Contact us for a FREE moisture sensing evaluation for your irrigation system and your specific crops.  No obligation, just knowledge!
  • The more you know, the more you can grow.

  • The AP Moisture Meter and AP Moisture Probe are powered by one standard 9 volt battery.  The AP Moisture Meter has a battery saving auto-shutoff feature.

"...scored the 'highest' when compared to the neutron probe readings...Alberta, Canada."

Taking Readings with the PocketPro PDA based System. The data you collect in the field is saved in the PDA and automatically uploaded into your desktop . Once on your computer you can view the data in graphs, tabular form, over time, by location, etc. The software runs as macros in Microsoft Excel.

How to save water and increase productivity when you know the moisture profile of the ENTIRE root system.

When the bottom of the root zone is quite wet, measuring more than 90% and the top is very dry, less than 60% (these are examples and your crop and soil type may differ, but this is a good place to start) shorten your irrigation time by half.  Keep checking the moisture level of the bottom roots.  When they have dried out to be much like the top half, increase the length of the next irrigation to penetrate the soil to the bottom of the root zone (it is easy to see how deep the water goes when you use AquaPro's Moisture Probe.)  Now go back to shorter irrigation times until the lower roots again need water.  This long irrigation followed by a series of shorter irrigation times has many benefits.  Not only do you save water, but you do not risk root diseases by keeping the lower roots saturated and lacking in oxygen.  Soon you will have modified your irrigation times automatically by observing how deep the water penetrates after each irrigation.  Now you can irrigate fertilizer into the root zone, and not beyond it.  You just keep on saving and growing when you use AquaPro~Sensors!

Seasonal Changes and Plant Maturity

AquaPro~Sensors measure soil moisture every inch of the way from the soil surface to the bottom of the access tubes.  As your plants mature and the root system extends, it will be necessary to increase irrigation times to provide deeper penetration of irrigation water to satisfy and enhance root growth for maximum plant development.  AquaPro will show you when and how much to irrigate.

Vineyard's Deficit Irrigation Techniques

and Farwell Neutron Probes

It has been proven that curtailing irrigation prior to harvesting certain wine grapes will enhance the sugar content, improve the quality of the wine and bring in a higher price to the grower.  AquaPro has 2 meter (6 foot) access tubes and a special moisture probe to measure the entire root system's moisture content.  Irrigation can be curtailed without risking the health of the vines, or the grapes.

The AquaPro~Sensor advantage

You own the sensor and can use it as often as needed.  A total root system moisture profile gives the irrigator the knowledge to make cost saving changes to irrigation cycles and to make these changes with confidence.

"...The most successful technology in this study appears to be the AquaPro~Sensors, which not only provided consistent readings, but were able to track conditions over the entire growing season...Oregon State University..." (tested during year 2000)
